The window motor just stopped. 2013 ford ranger xlt supa cab. On inspection having the motor on a test bench motor works fine positive and a negative wire. Motor goes clockwise and reverse polarity and it goes anti clockwise as one would expect. So the switch has five terminals, the center is common and switch up two outside terminals become positive and switch down the two other side become positive. So what happens is when you turn switch up or down the two wires on the motor get positive 12 volts, but no earth. Surely this can't be right. Any one had this issue. Is the switch faulty. Just seems unusual that both outputs are positive. Some clarity if anyone has experienced this. Thanks cheers Paul

You have an International Ranger, a T6 Ranger
We are in North America so we never got these models, we had the North American Ranger, 1983 to 2012, a smaller truck that the one you have
But power windows should be the same every where
The passenger side switch is GROUNDED at the drivers door switch, that's how drivers door switch controls passenger side window
Your Testing procedure may be flawed
Any electric motor or relay will show 12volts on BOTH wires if one wire is given 12volts, that's because a motor or relay is just a Coil Of Wire inside, so 12v IN = 12v OUT
The second wire needs to be 0volts/ground for the motor or relay to work
Most electric window system give the motor 12v on both wires all the wire
The switch CUTS the 12v and GROUNDS one wire, depending on the direction it need to turn
When all else fails check to see how the other good side works :)
I'm so embarrassed, I hate to say after an exhaustive 2 hours working on the damn car, albeit not mine it was just the button on the drivers side was pushed in deactivating the window. So thanks Kenhigg for the prompt. Sometimes that's all it takes looking at the big picture. Lol. Cheers
