Evap hose plastic clip broke, is my fix adaquate?

The evap hose right where it comes out of the gas tank, the stupid plastic clip broke. I put a small zip-tie that seems to be holding it in place think that will be fine? I can't pull it off but its a little loose. I forgot to take a pic of the "repair" sorry. Just a zip tie through where the clip should be.

Also it turns out old ear plugs make perfect plugs to keep dirt out!

Only time will tall if it works.
Different codes for different things _ blockage of EVAP system
Leak _ huge, if something lets go.
Or Insufficient flow.

It takes a while for the computer to set EVAP codes too.

I know the clip...
I would have gotten a piece of small hose that fits on the line from the gas take.
Then take a plastic reducer to go from the large to small hose.
And used hose clamps all around.
