i know i know its not a ranger but essentially the same thing....

one of my co workers son's is haveing problems with his 4x4 on his Expo.

the 4x4 light is flickering on and off, and he says it jumps and is acting like its going into 4x4 byitself....aldo says get terrible gas mileage when it does, doeas noyone have any ideas.....

 

Year, engine, awd or 4wd?

 

its a 1997 i think he said, prolly the 4.0, and its 4WD bc it has the selector ike we do

 

Probably shift motor died and its stuck in 4wd or half way between 2wd or 4wd. He can take the motor off and spin the shaft himself to get it into 2wd.
