A fire, some bondo, and a weekend later

Before winter really hit i wanted to fix my rust problem on my tailgate and my passenger side door.

First I started on the tailgate and cut the cancer out and put in a patch panel.

Next I did the door and while i was tacking in the patch the insulation caught fire and burnt up the cubby in the door.
Long story short, I now need back door lock cables and fix the wiring because now my door ajar light wont go off.

Then i bondo-ed the patches, taped it off and sprayed rustoleum bedliner on it.

Sucks about the fire but the rest looks good!

A couple weeks ago I sold a guy two cab corners for the older Chevy pickup... he got the first one in fine and was just finishing welding in the second and the insulation caught fire. Burned the truck down to just the shell and damn near took his house with it!

Sucks about the fire, but the finished product looks good. Nice job.

Finished shots:

I love how it turned out, but I want to give it another coat at some point. But my water pump went out last night so I have to fix that first
