What year Ranger has the flat ford ovals. I mean, like mine has raised FORD lettering in the oval. I'm looking for two flat ones so I can mod them. Anyone know what year? And I assume they'd be the same size?

 

i believe that all the flat ones are to small for yours.

 

You can still mod the bigger, raised ones... they should be tacky sort of, you can put your fingernail in them and make an indentation. I am currently in the middle of doing this mod on one I bought at the junk yard. Only thing I did differently is put it in the oven at 200 degrees for a little over 5 minutes, and I'm trying a different clear epoxy stuff. I didn't want to spend 20 bucks on something I'd never use up.

you can take yours off dip them in acetone and have all chrome emblems.

 

I bought overlays for them that are DSG with yellow FX4 in them but can't lay them right on the ovals I currently have.

 

Flat ones are on 2005 Fseries only. Those peel though so Ford had been replacing them. I tried to buy them and the dealership only sells the new raised version... would need to check yards or something...

 

04-05 F150 tailgate(and possibly grille) emblems are the same size as your raised 06+ emblems(9"). BUT...they are the gel ones. The ones that are hit and miss for modding. The how-to linked above is for the hard plastic ones. Almost nothing in there applies to the gel emblems. The gel ones need filled with clear epoxy after paint and that's why it's so hit and miss.

Billrite Bullies(speeling??) has modded 06+ bubbles on his truck. I believe he told me that he did it the fun way: laying down masking tape and xactoing.
