1. Click on "My Garage" in the nav bar. You'll see your truck listed.

2. If you haven't already, click the link below it to specify your bodystyle and powertrain.

3. Once #2 is done, you'll see buttons for the surveys beneath the truck. Click the one for "History" to post as much of the truck's repair and maintenance history as you care to post.

Note: this Repair History form is for information that cannot be reported using the Car Reliability Survey, which provides the data for the reliability stats. Since you have a 2008, which is not in the reliability survey yet (need at least 25 owners signed up), you can only report repairs using the Repair History form.

But once a model year is in the Car Reliability Survey repairs should be reported through that survey first--otherwise they won't be included in the analysis that produces the reliability statistics.

You'll know when your truck is in the Car Reliability Survey because you'll start receiving emails with links to it.

 

Just updated stats for 458 other car models. The Ranger wasn't in this update, but at least one model year should be in the next update, in November.

The survey collects data going forward. It doesn't ask what happened before you signed up. So not knowing isn't a problem at all.

 

We should start having some results for the Ranger with the November update. But it's going to be close--even a few more participants could mean the difference between having a result and not having one.

Starting this month we have a new question to measure, as objectively as possible, the severity of a problem. Many people have been asking for reliability stats that weight problems by how severe they are, and once we have enough responses with the revised survey we'll start providing this.

Also, updated reliability stats this month.

As always, the more owners participate, the better the information we can provide to everyone.

Hoping to have some results for the Ranger with the February update--very close for some years, so even a few more participants would be very helpful.

We have an initial result for the 2002 Ranger, including owner experiences through December 31, 2010. Other sources of car reliability information won't cover the months since April until the summer or even fall of this year.

With a reported 37 repair trips per 100 cars per year, it's better than average. The sample size is small, so this result is not precise.

We'll have further updates in May and August. With more participants, we could provide more precise information and cover all model years.
