Just reading what you guys had to say on the new SD and while your dad might have done the dynos off of rotunda there, but it was developed in chicago at internationals HQ. Fords contract runs out with International in 2010 and the last year you will see them is in 2012. Ford is disgusted with international over the 6.0 and wanted to keep the 7.3 because it was a heavy truck motor, very reliable in the heavy trucks and all around good. Ford then reprogramed(sp) it for SuperDutys and thats where you get the problems(figures). My cousin worked on the quality control team and I now know a lot about what ford was doing to the new 6.4.
As for the new super duty, it will take a while but it grew on me and super dutys are for being work horses not off road vehicles. Ford has a couple of tricks up its sleeve and if you guys think they are down and out in the off road scene, I have two words for you Land Rover.

my cousin bought a 2004 F150 FX4 brand new in 04 with a sticker price of $47,000 so ya, you could easily see 100K for a new F series at those prices - yet they wonder why sales are down.
anyways, this new truck is a joke. forget its ugliness and lets look at reality for a moment.
you got a 'new' design, which will have a 50% margin of people who hate it. like the new rangers - which by the way, i STILL think are butt ugly. that new grill? i bet its paper thin plastic, where when u hit a bumble bee on the thruway u break the grill. new PLASTIC interior pieces, cheap crappy plastic, yet price goes up exponentially. that tail gate step is nice, bet that cost ford all of $3 but will charge $3,000 for it. bigger is not always better, and with feul prices, and the current state of our economy, even as a tax right off this is a HUGE investment. can we say 'incentives'?
I was at D's house last night and took a somewhat close look at his dads new F350... noce truck except for one MAJOR detail. they put these itty bitty little tires on this huge truck, it looks retarded! why not skip the grill and add bigger tires stock?
I dunno... to me, this is just a way for Ford, and other ugly American manafactuers to hand the american market - whats left of it to the ricers. American made products need to get off their high and mighty horse and instead of trying to improve with new designs, improve in reliability, and fit and finish. they way something looks only goes so far. if you have the ugly car on the road, yet has the nicest interior fit and finish and reliability wise, people will buy it. why? cause A its reliable, and B its nice. problem is, american auto makers like to use the cheapest plastic they can get, and charge the absolute most amount of money for it. and while this is good to make a quick buck, over time it gets old. step up the quality, and keep the price the same and sales will increase.

oh ya and before i forget, we bought our 1995 E350 from our cousin in 1999. heres some of the options it has, and what ford had the ***** to charge for them.
Captain Chairs: $3200
center console with two cup holders: $1800
those two off the top of my head, the difference in chairs? not much to justify $3,000 in my opinion. and that center console?!
OMFG what a JOKE that is the biggest pile of crap every put into anything with a Ford emblem on it. I swear there is more plasictic in my mouse than there is in that console. see its crap like that ford needs to improve upon. big things get the big fast attention. the little things are what really makes a vehical stand out. just compare a taco to a ranger..... taco has it all over the ranger in fit and finish and stuff.

with super duty's bigger is better for the most part the reason for 80% of the trucks is TOWING. the bigger the tow vehical the better it will tow(not meaning huge lifted trucks) it makes it more stable. and can we say deisel...on those motors adding "power" adders the MPG will just keep increasing, in my mind superduty's should only come in Deisel there pointless in gasser engines. but being over half of the public is un-educated about them and scared of deisels you cant do that...

The new emissions are going to hurt the new diesels coming out, thus why most of the diesel magazines are telling you to buy an 06 for performance, etc. And as far as the tire sizes, i alaways thought Ford was the ones who used the largest tires? All the new fullsize GM's look like they are running on 30" tires, which looks completely retarted is you ask me. Hell my dads 05 superduty came with 34x11's stock.

Well, Land Rover has the best off road R and D in world. They even share a basic program from ford for the new LR3/Expedition. Ford has been kicking around the idea that you can "badge engineer a D-90" which, lets be honest, is the best 4x4 on the road but airbags were to hard to put in there. There was the concept Bronco at the auto show but Ford has not even "looked at it yet", but their initial reason for that is because of saftey concerns. Ford is studying the new Fj cruiser to see its success and the possibility of a new bronco. Mark Fields said that there is only one chasis that would be good for the bronco. Guess what one? Thats right, the ranger.
Now, as far as our trucks go, Twin cities is shutting down real soon because its ancient and there is not enough ranger demand. Plus Ford wants to have different options on it(the ranger). Where is it going to come from you ask? Why Brazil of course. With the power stroke diesel option(4 banger for those of you that dont know). Which is weird because they have the exact same chasis as ours, although a different drivetrain. But it will be majorly updated. I am going to be getting a mustang update and if anyone is curious about another project let me know and I will snoop around. But I must tell you that my sources are second to none so be read y to be surprised.
