Fresh paint 8.8
I installed my 8.8 on monday. Its out of a 2009 xlt 4.0 supercab 4x4 with 17K miles.I was a little pissed at the J/Y for pulling it and letting it sit in the rain got a little rusty.Got tired of seeing rust and Junk yard stock numbers on today so i fixed that.

Sorry i should have took before pics.
I did minimal prep work, pulled the shocks, sanded the rust, used brake cleaner to clean everything, then taped off the spings and driveshaft and went to town.
It wasnt rust-belt bad ,just left in the rain in cali bad

3.73's which sucks cause my stock 7.5 had 4.10's and i need 4.56's But ill get those once i get my taxes back along with a diabo tuner
Thought about it may do so in a few weeks need to wash all the mud off everything first.I bought 3 cans of krylon rust tough semi flat and didnt even use a whole can on the axle.
x2.
i don't understand how that pertains to the topic though, except that it has to do with axles.
same. i probably have to do it a little more often than you though haha. gotta love that ohio salt and brine.
I thought I was the only on who did that. :-P
