Going to Bama Chips

I'm going to be ordering mine soon and i was wondering if doug will dyno tune it for me? I dont live that far from birmingham, and i thought it would be cool to go down there and watch him work his magic. Has anyone else gone down there or does he not really like to do it?

I asked him if i could just pick mine up and he said sure lets take it to the dyno and he wanted to try the big mass air flow thing out but couldn't cause mine was an 04 so if you want too drive the 4 hours from TN down there and he is not busy i'd say he'd be cool with it. (I was down there for work and got paid to let him do it)

Hey there, I don't know how Doug likes to do his thing with tuning usually, certainly can't speak for him either. However, Doug will be here in NC very early in 2006 (pretty sure January) to dyno tune several vehicles. I know he'll be working with Bobby's truck, as well as a 5.0 Explorer with a Powerdyne, and very likely with our 2005 Super Duty diesel. I can't freely offer invitations or anything like that, but it may be something to keep in mind. Don't forget, Jusnes Modified is an EXCLUSIVE dealer for BamaChips (as in the only place you can get it besides Doug himself, who is a very busy man)

Hmm...if you can squeeze me in there for a dyno tune, I'd come to NC on my way to Florida.

Jan 21st at FastLane Motorsports in Benson NC

We have the wideband dyno-jet for the day.

There will be

Roush Charged 5.4 2004 F150
NA 5.4 2004 F150 (mine)
NA 4.6 2004 F150 (ryan)
Powerdyned 5.0 Explorer
2005 Superduty 6.0 PSD (ours)
and I believe a Saleen Mustang

Im not sure if there will be time for another vehicle in there, but an NA ranger shouldnt take more than 30 mins to an hour. If anyone is serious about it, let me know, you will have to pay your dyno time, which is roughly $75 an hour, but the tuning is free if you are a BamaChips Customer

I just want to be sure the numbers are acurate.

We were looking at everything on the rangers today and can't believe people are paying so much for such a minor increase in power and torque.

Yeah, and the 100 posts that you have is truly unbelievable, as well. Why do you say this? But you know, you are right...it's a big conspiracy to get people's money, and none of us actually have this Bamachip thing.

If you look in the dictionary, 'bama' actually mean, "Boom, sucker, I got you."

Look on the forum and on the website...there ARE proven gains.

The BamaChips Tuner is definately the best bang for the buck. Do some research on it

I love mine and will buy one for every vehicle I own that they will work on. The power increase is very noticable

Touchy aren't we....

I'm just looking at the numbers....

87 to 89 octane produces only 5 HP and 6 ft lbs of torque for a 4.0.

87 to 93 does 15 and 15 - still not great when you factor in the extra fuel cost.

the tuner is not simply for HP numbers, it improves shifting, improves gas mileage, increases torque, etc. for the money, its a good mod.

some possibilities within your custom tune can include:

much shorter shifts
much HARDER shifts
much quicker throttle response

that right there is raw, SEAT OF THE PANTS feel
