So my grandfather signed his ranger over to me this past weekend, he bought the truck back in 1998 and he told me back then(i was 7 at the time) DJ one day this truck will be yours. and that day has come. It's a 2.5 2wd, not real optioned but doesn't matter to me. I'm just glad to have it, and its mine to carry on for another 24 years. It only has 57K miles on it, as far as mods- absolutely none, just keep it in top cosmetic and mechanical condition. It does need gone over and a few items replaced, tires are 14 years old, fluids need changed. my grandpa was never good about fluid changes except oil changes, still has the original serp belt. Stuff like that, I did add the all weather mats to keep the carpet as nice as possible.
As far as my 2019 Ranger I no longer have that, i traded that in on a 2021 F150 5.0, even made some money on that ranger with the way the market is
So what's different about this Ranger that made you wanna take it over versus just selling it? I remember how unhappy you were with the 03, why do you think this will be different?

My grandfathers. I could never sell it. It always has and always will be his truck to me
Completely detailed my grandpas truck Friday. Including extracting the carpet and seats. Kept pulling this brown water out of the seats. Didn't dawn on me for a while but it was cigarette tar and my grandpa hasn't smoked in over 20 years
have a bunch of stuff ordered for it from ford. V-belt, idler, tensioner(squeak when its damp out) and its all original, rad hoses, breather hose, axle seals and going to change all the fluids this coming monday, took the day off work and going to do that before it goes into winter storage and myself/my buddy give it a once over to see what else it might need before i drive it more. When my grandpa had it, the past few years it never went further then 5-10 miles from his house and over 35 mph
put all new belts and hoses on it this past winter, new t-stat and cap, brake calipers, wheel cylinders, changed the rear diff lube, all the other fluids.
wow, almost 3 years since i updated this thread, been keeping up on Maintenace and keeping the truck in like new condition. Put antique tags on it and got a marti report for it
Well, a sad update regarding the truck and its meaning to me,
My grandfather or Pappy as I always called him passed away on May 13th, 2025. So this truck's value to me has shot up dramatically as I have so many memories of just the 2 of us riding around in it together
