Icon5 Hard to open driver's door?

I've had this problem for awhile, but never though much of it. The driver's side door is really hard to open, but everything else seems to be okay (feels normal after the first ~15 degrees of swing).

When you grab the handle and start to pull, the door feels like there's a vacuum inside the cab and you have to break it. Kind of like the truck is rolled over on the passenger side and you have a 10lb weight on it. Does that make sense? Kind of hard to describe, but the initial pull is really hard. From then on everything seems normal.

Any suggestions?

KY . . .

But seriously, is your door aligned? Are your hinges loose/tweaked? Moisture between the weather stripping?

I might just try some spray lithium or something on the hinges.

I don't THINK anything is misaligned because the door closes very easily, doesn't seem to bend in any sort of way. I live in the desert so I don't think moisture is a problem!

My friend's ranger does the same thing. It's just like there's something sticky on the weatherstripping.

mine does this too, but ive checked everything to see whats wrong, all is good. Someday i might just replace the handle to see if that fixes it, but i have no problem with it.

These trucks are some what air tight. While rolling down the road crak your window just a bit and you'll hear the vacum seal break. That said I don't see any way for you to create enough of a vacum in the truck to make the doors har to open.

Is the door still hard to open with the windows down?

When it got really hot out my door would stick real bad. I put some lube around the weather stripping that contacts the door and it seemed to help.

I sprayed some grease on the hinge and no help. Nothing seems to be out of alignment.

Guess I'll just ignore it! I've got a baby on the way so I'm selling the truck anyway :-(

I just noticed that on my dads 06 FX4, it feels like a vacuum but he hasnt complained about it and when i drive i can handle it so it dont think it will be a problem with us. To me it almost seems like the seal around the door is the problem with this.

Door sticking closed does not appear to be vacuum.

When my door is pushed all the way closed, it opens easy, but when barely shut, it feels like I'm gonna snap the handle trying to open.
