Headlights fogging after mod a tiny bit

Any ideas as to how to fix this? I thought I had a pretty good bead of caulk the first time. Then I went back and resealed it again which helped, but there is still a small amount of fogging along the bottom edge of each light. How can I fix it?

Where? I just talked about that with someone else, but wouldn't that let more moisture in?

throw a thin bead of cauk around where you caulked it before and take a finger and wipe off the access. as for the condensation. take a piece of lint free cloth put it on the end of a screwdriver and wipe off the water through the headlight and turn signal holes.

That's what I did before. It worked well, but not 100%. I may try to cut out the caulk and try again. It's hard to split my limited time back at home between this and the EATC! And maybe my girlfriend or something too, but that's lower down on the list

LMAO! well she is in school during the day and then has practice afterwards until about 5:30, so that gives me plenty of mod time during the day!

Precisely! It's funny because she always asks what I do during the day and then I start talking about this truck part or that and she's like 'Whoa Whoa Whoa nevermind!"
She'll just never understand!

If you can afford to leave the truck at home for a day and not drive it, remove the headlights from the truck, and the lamps from the headlights. Set the headlight housing outside in the sun, lens down. The radiant heat will warm the headlight housing and "cook off" the moisture inside. Leaving the lens down means that the bulb opening is facing up, allowing the moisture to escape more easily.

Then re-seal all of your seams and you should be in good shape.

They may be sealed up good. When i bought my new ones on Ebay, they fogged up after i got them on the truck. I took them off and used a hair dryer inside till they were dry and then instantly put the lights back in. Didnt fog up anymore.

Alright I thought that might be what it was. I guess just swabbing it up with a towel on the end of a screw driver didn't get all the moisture out.

Pour some rubbing alcohol into the lights and swish it around. Then dump it out and let them air dry.

the alcohol will get rid of the water much faster than air drying

use silcone sealer, not other kinds of "caulk", silcone is 100% water proof

drill a SMALL hole in the light and let the moisture dry out, try to re-seal around the light, then fill the drill hole in with some super glue....hopefully it will seal it.

Hey, my boyfriend had the same problem with his fire dept lights. here is what he said. Fisrt undo the light and remove all the caulk. Use a hair dryer and dry the peices. Then use an automative grade silicone to seal the light up. Good luck.
