CB Mounted, and cleaned a tiny bit.

Went and bought my CB today, so I mounted it up. Afterwards, I grabbed my armorall wipes and cleaned the truck up just a little bit. It was dusty as hell (still is fairly dusty in there), and I actually had a hard time seeing the gauges in the dark, LOL!

Anyway, pictures:

Anybody got any ideas on how I can get rid of this residue? It was from the velcro things that held my dash mat down.

And here are some I took last weekend after I washed the truck. Nothing special.

Tomorrow I am mounting my antenna's and possibly wiring the CB, if I can figure it out. I haven't done it before. I also gotta find a speaker in my garage, or otherwise go buy one.

This setup isn't permanent. I am gonna build a console here soon, just gonna wait till pay day or something.

I've got one floating around in my garage somewhere. It's just the part about looking for it, that's the hard part. LOL!

Thanks Mike.

Well, got motivated and started working on the interior some more:

Pulled the door sill off. First time it's ever been off, I imagine:

All the way back from 1955. It sure has been in the truck for a long time!

Not too bad under the carpet:

This is what happens when you leave an opened tube of PL in your truck with the windows rolled up and it's 98 degrees outside. Got a bunch of it up.

The best purchase I have ever made:

I vacuumed a little bit of the mat before taking this picture. Just for comparison purposes of how much rock there is in the truck:

So this is where I started to get frustrated.

This screw was caked in dirt and such, so I accidentally stripped it with my little huskey screwdriver. So I went a little bigger and grabbed my rattle gat:

Size: 80.2 KB

Still wasn't coming out. So, I went with plan C, which was to use one of those new Grabbit Bit thingy majiggers with my bigger gun:

Those bits suck. The screw is still in there, only stripped more so then it was before.

Tomorrow, I am going to pull as much of the dash apart and clean it entirely with the vac and some wipes I got. Might even pull the center console and do it too, or just do it in the truck. Then, if I am still motivated enough, I'll mount my antenna's and wire the CB. It took me until about an hour and a half ago to get motivated enough to get the vacuum out and clean the truck. To put it this way, the last time I cleaned the interior of the truck, the snow was just starting to melt.

Hell yeah!

I think my old man will be home tomorrow, but I'm not sure. If he is, I'll try to get him to help me tune the radio. Otherwise, the guys at the place I bought my CB will do it, I just have to pay them.

I hate how my screws are rusty already on the door strip... WTF???

btw...we have the same floor mats, good choice!

I thought about fabing up some aluminum/billet covers for them so you couldn't see screws

And I already loaded up the truck for tomorrow:

The CB will be hooked up this week after work some time. Or, I might just wait until the weekend. Had too much crap I had to do other then clean the truck, and that was a little more important.

What are those cup holders out of? That single one from the factory is just about useless.
