i agree with you Marie M. i think his moms car runs, why junk it? and if they did junk it it would be a waste of money for everyone

 

^^^ exactly my moms van runs great and the tranny is under warranty for another year and its payed off. but my truck is safe and its getting fixed monday. the only reason this whole thing started was because my dad wanted to buy a new car and my mom finally laid down the law and said no lol

 

rather confused through this whole thread.....now your on your mom's side and at the start of it you were bashing her .... totally confused...

why not junk yours sell the probe and get a nice newer truck? if you get 3500 for yours and you get 1000 from your probe....and maybe borrow a couple grand from a bank you got almost 7000 dollars to get a nice ride....something that doesnt constantly need fixing.

just my 2 cents, not saying its a bad or good decision to keep the truck but use your head, you could use everything to your advantage.

You have a brand new Focus and you're crying about losing your Ranger with more miles than mine had on it.

It's not worth fixing the truck anymore. I got rid of mine just for that fact. Over 260 000 miles. Body and interior were great, but I have over $4000 into that truck and I was lucky I got $3000 for it from a private sale. If I had a brand new car to drive, I would keep my B2200 as my toy and dump my money into that and just drive the new car and maintain it and make my payments on it.

I had 3 vehicles when I was 20. It is too much.

 

I got 2 vehicles right now and Im 22....and its too much.

I promise you like beard said there will be MANY more trucks down the road!!! look at like this. pretend you were just on the trail and smacked a tree and then you got out and the truck rolled down a 50ft bluff......its gone right!? Well kinda same principle here....it is in your dads name so he kinda has the final say so. I have have done so much work and put money in to so many cars in my life i coulda bought a bentley by now and paid cash for it!!! lol!!! Just take it as a sign of better things to come!!

Let them do it. Truck is old and youll never get anywhere close to that for the truck down the road. Drive the Focus, you make it sound like its a godawful terrible car. Save cash while you drive it that would be otherwise used for repairs and buy yourself another truck down the road if you want. Theres millions of them out there. Its not like you wont run into another thats probably in better shape and less miles for cheap.

BTW - im 27 and ive had 9 cars. Most i had at one time was 4, and the BEST mpg trophy of those 4 went to a Cougar that would get 14mpg on premium. Then there was a Lincoln that got 8mpg.
