hitch ripped off

anyone ever had this happen? lol. 4 of the 6 bolts holding my hitch on have ripped through the frame was thinking about welding it back on since it made the holes in the frame bigger. I'll post pictures tomorrow.

I've seen it once.

The only other hitch failure I've seen is the hitch snapping in half at the center chunk

Waiting for pictures, because that sounds like an awesome yet crazy thing.

I would say you will have to re-weld the stuff.

I guess it was bound to happen. had a guy warn me about running a ball in it while wheeling today just hasn't been good for me.

UNIBODY. same damn concept, meany.

and I know you'll get technical about it, so therefore I'll say this now. I know its not the same concept. lol. but, where the hitch mounts its pretty much the same.

Ripped the unibody. Block up some 1/4 inch plate bolted through the UNIBODY then bolt on the new hitch and weld it too. Same thing happened to me that's how I fixed it.

I've had someone rear end me and rip 3 of the 6 bolts off and bend my frame. Welded up a new hitch and put it on. Good to go.

You go weld it for him so it won't fall off.

haha, thats an option. also drawing up some rear tube bumper plans to tie into sliders and tube fenders, so we'll see where that goes. I really don't haul anything using the hitch, other than my dirtbike. which I'm sure now that my hitch is off, I'll wanna ride or something along those lines.

edit: taylor, you're only like 4 1/2 hours from me haha. come weld it.

You have a lifted Chrysler product you need a hitch! Also if you get stuck on the trails and don't have a hitch your screwed.

Carridge head bolts through round holes. No wonder they failed. Use hex head with washers next time.

hahaha, I have NEVER been stuck to where I need to get pulled out by the hitch. I have a winch on the front that works good hell, I've never even been stuck in general. other than climbing a couple hills the front pulls it to the side, where it wants to tumble my jeep down the hill, so I get out, hook the winch to a tree and straighten it up. but, in reality, I really hate not having a hitch in case I need to tow something.
