I wanna put a Ford Shelby 150 engine in my Ranger
I have a 2003 Ford Ranger with a classic 4.0 v6. Don’t get me wrong I love it, but I do want some more power behind the wheel. I was going to either super charge it more self or try and get some information about swapping engines with a newer Ford Shelby 150. Anyone know anything on that.

Later model engines usually have Over Head Cams so get too wide to fit in a Ranger engine bay
The 302/5.0l OHV V8 is 19" wide and barely fits between steering shaft and heater/blower box, but does fit
The 351W at 21" could be squeezed in with some modifications to engine bay parts
The DOHC V8s are 30" wide............................5" more on each side!!!!, there just isn't room
These are also 9" taller...............so body lift and hood modification
I am sure you could do it with deeeep pockets
The 4.0l SOHC(your engine) uses a 60deg block so even with SOHC its narrower than the 90deg Ford V8 blocks
People have super or turbo charged the 4.0l SOHC so there are articles on that out on "the net"
