Help with getting a faulty tire replaced by Carmax
Hey all. I just bought a used 2004 ranger from Carmax in Knoxville, Tn a little over a month ago. It was riding bad so i got the tired Road Force Balanced at a Ford Dealership. One of the tires they could get down to only a 38, and anything over 25 is considered a bad tire. I have put only about 1200 miles on the truck. The tires are not under warranty, but do you think i should be able to get them to get me a replacement, as the tires were put on the truck new by Carmax. I think its a faulty tire that got out of where they make it. Any ideas and past experiences with Carmax on such things would be appreciated.

If they were put on new....Hell yeah go back to Carmax! I'd say it started right after you bought the truck and went to Ford and yada yada. Make em pay for the Ford service too! Just go in there and start b1tchin. Wait til there's a bunch of customers in there and they'll want to shut you up and give you whatever to keep you calm. Works for me all the time =]
If they're not busy....go have lunch or something and come back when it's busier, lol.

agreed
yeah ive already spent 150 bucks. 75 to diagnose the problem and 75 for the roadforce balancing. Kinda pisses me off on a new truck but what you gonna do. Warranty does not help with tires so have to go fuss at Carmax i guess. Gonna get ahold of the sales guy that sold it to me as he seemed to be reasonable and see what he says. If he is not helpful i will have to start being pushier i guess, threatening to not buy anything more and tellin my friends about it etc lol.
