Identify what this part is called? Plate over shifter
Troubleshooting fumes in the cab. Turns out that the aluminum that mounts over the shifter had somehow been pushed up and was allowing air from the outside under the truck inside. I need to find another one, also it seems there is some sort of gasket that sits between the aluminum plate and body. I can work the plate back to form, but I'm having trouble finding the gasket (or whatever you call it).
They haven't made the shifter floor plates for awhile so I doubt gaskets would be available
I would use weatherstrip, the kind that has sticky tape on one side, it comes in various widths and thicknesses

yea, that would solve the problem with adhering the plate to the body, but do you have a suggestion that would replace what the gasket did? Also I'm concerned if weather stripping would hold up to the heat that it would experience coming from the engine and also being right on top of the tranny.
I believe I found my issue
Trying to identify what this is called (Aluminum plate).
Backstory: been dealing with dizziness/headaches while driving lately. After taking the carpet out I realized somehow the aluminum plate cover that goes over the tranny, that the shifter comes through, had been pushed up, allowing air from under the truck to get inside. I attribute this to exhaust fumes ect. getting inside the cab. I can bend the metal back to form, however I can't seem to find the gasket (or whatever you call it) that sits between the body metal the aluminum plate. I'd get a whole new one if possible. I've checked LMC truck and some other placed. Any ideas?
