Intake manifold

Hey guys, hope this don't sound like a stupid question but would a new intake manifold increase anything as far as performance?

Not unless there was a super, or turbo, charger attached to it......lol

Not a dumb question either.
Factory intakes for fuel injection are made for low and mid-range power, they can start to limit air flow above 4,500rpm.
Factory has to make intakes that meet emissions requirements but they also need to make engines that have reasonable power so they can sell vehicles, lol.
This is why factory's added Cold Air Intakes(CAI) when they started switching over to fuel injection, they saw the benefits in performance with CAI on earlier carb engines so adopted CAI when engineering for EFI.
And this is also why 3rd Party CAIs don't increase performance, you already have it.

If you plan on spending time above 4,500rpm then check out Tom Morana Racing website, they have 60mm and 75mm intakes for Ford 3.0l.
Any HP gains would be above the 4,500rpm range.

Not a whole lot.

What does make some power is getting like a k&n or some performance replacement drop in filter to replace the old one, or you can do it the fancy way and get a cone filter, but that costs a bit more for the the same performance.

You can also cut the inlet holes o the air box and make them bigger to let more air flow.

Porting the throttle body adds up to 10 hp, a couple mpg, better throttle response, and a more aggressive sound. You can also buy a larger throttle body if you dont want to do the Porting or your worried about messing it up.

Unless the engine is already heavly modded, its not worth it to get a new manfold.

Thank you for the information. That's what I needed to know. I haven't been able to find a new intake for the 3.0 only the 2.3 and the 4.0
