leakage current ... need wiring diagram
leakage current ... need wiring diagram
Hello
Ranger 2004,2.3L
everything is off, no additional consumers - current leakage 150 mA
found out that a leak occurs in the circuit protected by fuse No. 13 (interior light, signal) SJB, it is necessary to check the wiring
who can help with the wiring diagram from SJB to salon lamp
Maybe someone had such situations?

In 2004 cab Fuse 13 powers the interiors lights, and horn relay, but thru the Battery Saver relay, so you have to wait about 30 to 45min after key off and doors closed for SJB timer to turn off Batter Saver relay
If your battery is being drained first thing to do is to see if its the battery itself, doesn't matter if its new or old, needs to be tested
Disconnect one or both battery cables
Test battery voltage, write it down
Re-test battery voltage 4 hours later, 8 hours or more is better, should be EXACTLY the same voltage, if it less then battery is self draining, has an internal short in one of the cells
99% of the time its the battery that's the issue, or alternator but I assume you tested battery with engine on and voltage is between 13.5v and 14.8volts
If battery tests as OK then you can look for vehicle system drain
Hook up amp meter and with key off and doors close wait for battery saver relay to turn off, as said 30-45min
Amp draw should drop
30 to 70mA is the normal draw, 30mA for base model Ranger, 70mA if there is keyless entry(Fobs)
A car battery has about 280Amp hours, a 150mA(0.15amp) drain would take about 30days/1 month to drain battery down to 50%, past that you would have a no start
So if battery is draining faster than that, then it most likely the battery that's the issue
The interior light relay and battery saver relay are not "serviceable parts", they are part of the SJB circuit board

Test results
- battery check - voltage drop in 24 hours from 12.7v to 12.3v
-check leakage current - after closing the door 150mA, after 35 minutes - 25mA
Thanks to Ron for the info.
Installed a new battery, everything is fine
