Can my 91 4X2 with a 2.3 engine safely haul 1,000 pounds of sod? Or is it going to be two trips? Not going to be driving on the freeway.

 

It is rated at a 1/2 ton, 1,000lbs, but..............
'91 could have rusted hangers or other issues, I would make 2 trips to possibly prevent having to fix something.

If everything looks good underneath then 1,000lbs should be do able, as you add the sod make sure suspension doesn't bottom out, if it does then make another trip.
