LOOK-->Why a Maunal for 4x4

I still don't know which I prefer.
why cant we have both?
I miss: shifting gears, saving gas, having power on demand, and the ability to rock my truck out of a hole, push starting when the battery is dead,
I don't miss: slave cylinders or the smell of burn clutch, rolling back on an icy hill, grinding a gear when I get a little too excited, or the lag time between shifts.
I like the auto because: I can push the pedal and go, no roll back, makes stop-and-go traffic more tolerable! I don't have to wait to get in a drivable gear. less jerk between shifts. (so i dont spill my starbucks on the way to the job site (actually dunken d's coffee is 100x better.)
I hate the auto because: burns alot more gas, only does what I want half the time, I feel like im going to break the damn thing when selecting P to R to D every time i pull out.
And I seriously don't know how to drive an auto because sometimes ill mash the gas and the truck will haulass, other times it will just kind of accelerate.
I think i may be getting the hang of it though. when I use the gas pedal like it was manual it will shift up when i want it to. Now, if some could tell me how to down shift it when i want it to ill be happy.

i've said it before and i'll say it again.....
i don't know how to drive an automatic
i have driven autos before and i always reach down to shift or stomp the floor hoping to hit the third pedal
i prefer it because it helps me pay attention while driving, personally i think everyone first starting to drive should use a stick ESPECIALLY teenage girls.
they would spend less time dicking around texting on they're cell phones or putting on makeup and pay more attention to the road...or else end up in a ditch....i know it may sound harsh but hey, survival of the fittest. if you feel the need to text while driving and you crash and burn...then the gene pool doesn't need your contribution.

Having an auto is nice off road, but I really prefer driving a manual. It is more fun, I have more control over the vehicle, and it just gives me something to do while am driving. I feel like I am actually driving the vehicle and not just riding in it.
I really wish my truck was a manual even though it would make crawling a little more cantankerous.
