at a loss of what to do
#27
no offense guys ? but i never meant to start a flaming war here
when i had the ranger in for it`s 40,000 kilometer service , bill had the mechanic do a full safety inspection ( i did not know about it at that time )
phil ( mechanic ) told me he was ready to sign the safety right then and there
he has never worked on a ranger that was running like a top like mine ( his words )
bill ( the salesman ) appraised my ranger at $ 27,900 trade in value ( a new 1 with our hated harmonized sales tax is $ 22,400 out the door )
i have not had a call back yet ( but it is up to the dealership owner and the potential buyer to decide what they intend to do from there )

"Rear his right?" lol I am at a loss on that one
Not your fault, this new Matt guy and I are currently in a disagreement so it's probably gonna spill into some threads for a little while. It'll pass though.
Look, you're not making any friends here by going insulting other members. At the end of the day you have been active on here a whooping week, and I have been a regular since March. You are not going to last here by being the douche bag bully, we have plenty already. If you have opinions of another member just keep them to yourself, no reason to post them in someone elses thread. If you want you can post a thread in the off-topic where you can vent about how I make "useless, uninformative, and uneducated" posts, that way you aren't spamming up real threads. It's just plain out disrespectful to the OP to argue with a member about something related to the topic in the OPs thread.

They appraised your vehicle at 27,900? Is it dipped in gold? If the value of urs is 27k and the new one is 22k, according to them you are losing 5k in value... Tell em u want 5k in upgrades/mods and then u'll do it. Guess you really gotta decide how much the truck is worth to YOU, not the dealership

i took a look at a red fx4 fully loaded last year
th window sticker said the off the lot price was $ 34,995 taxes paid
( i almost up chucked my coffee when i saw the price )
but that`s the trade in value it was valued at
( a lot of vehicles in canada are way over priced )

hmmm pretty interesting position they got ya in there...
I agree with the others. If they appraised your truck 5k more than what they're trying to get out of ya I would most certainly want something more than a straight up trade. HIGHLY doubt they would fork over the difference in cash though lol.
The guy I bought my truck from (works for a dealer part time too) makes a living out of finding vehicles for people. He has contacted me many times when a customer is looking for a small truck and tries to get me into something else at his cost. I keep explaining to him that my truck is worth more to me than just dollar signs. He's offered newer rangers, a wrx, a gti, and some fullsizes with decent miles. Sure I can get into a car worth more KBB wise but then I'd be dumpin the money into it to make it my own again. As it stands right now I told him the only way he can get me out of the ranger is a HD edition f150 supercharged or a decent powerstroke.

i think that bill goofed on the price though
i believe $ 27,900 is going to be their resale price ( i agree that it is aburdly high )
it is a wonder how some dealerships up here stay in business , regarding the devious underhanded tactics they employ
i just read a toronto sun ad for a 2011 escape 2 wd for around $ 10,600 cdn
it all depends on the final outcome from the dealership owner though
( i wont be holding my breath though )

welcome to canada dude. the ranger starts at I believe 17k for an ext. cab. base model. no options. an FX4 LVL II was about $36,500 or so...hell a taco TRD is $46,000. the raptor is 66,500 I think...the only vehicle you can get at a decent price here is a hyundai accent haha
