Icon9 loud valves

ive got a 99 ranger with a 4.0 and i would like to know what can be done about the loud ticking?? i know its the rockers, but im confused???? ive been told its the push rods, the rocker arm shafts, lifters, but if it was the lifters it would have a skip ? i found a company that sells rebuilt shafts and they want the old shafts back as a core, so are they just replacing the rockers and using the old shafts?? they also supply new pushrods as a kit. can anybody tell me the cheapest way to correct the ticking or is there anybody out there that knows where to get the parts? the co. that sells them says that they are out of stock, and going to a junkyards a crapshoot but??? let me know what you think maybe someone has a set that they didnt use??

well the best advice i can give ya.... drive it and get over it. its a noise. unless your noticing a difference in performance. then its a ford thing. my power steering pump makes a noise but i dont replace that. my pushrod 3l ticks too. im over it. still damn good motors. now if you are noticing a power loss or somethings about to blow, buy a rebuild kit or start with a new block, chances are your motors got some miles on it anyway, might as well make sure everything is good.
