In the market for new tires, help
I'm in the market for some new tires come this fall when I start up school again. I'm only looking to spend about 500-550 bucks and I want a decent set of All terrain tires like I have on my truck now. Weird part is i went outside to look and see what brand of tire I have and it just says ALL TERRAIN R/T on the side, no brand name whatsoever. I have no idea where to find a good set of all terrains around for the price I want so if any of you know where I can find a set of 30.9.50RI15Lt's from let me know, i'll still search around too but just wanted you guy's opinion on what I could buy for the money i want to spend. Tires of my truck are still decent but are weather cracked and the rear are starting to wear down in the center and i have no clue if it will pass inspection the way it is since my inspection runs out this month. So again my tire size is 30.9.50RI15Lt. I wouldnt be able to run like 33's or anything like that on it would I? I think that would be too big... what are some other options I might have?
sorry for the long post and thanks alot..
(forgot about the section for tires and wheels... sry for posting it in the wrong place)

If you want decent ATs most people will say BFG AT because that is a large majority of what people run. I wanted to be a little different and love my choice. I have Bridgestone Dueller AT REVOs, and they rock. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....ler+A%2FT+Revo
What are the stats on your truck? That will tell what size tire you could run.
Don't forget john93rangerstx you can edit your posts :)

I have these A/Ts and then rock. They are pretty quiet and have great traction. They havnt let me down yet. They are $96 each and shipping is around $10 a tire. $106 for a A/T shipped to your door is pretty cheap.

If your looking for M/Ts theres these for $117 a tire. I know Aaron had them and he really liked them.

None taken, I spent my money on what I wanted and don't regret it one bit. I was in a little caked mud this last week and weekend and was impressed with how they still grabbed and cleaned themselves out. I read tons of reviews and am so tired of seeing the BFG style tire, overplayed for about 10 years IMO. Far too often you see people get ATs and MTs who don't wheel. That is why I liked the aggressive look and great road manners of the REVO. I have put 25k+ on them in about a year and they have half life left even the few occasional burnouts. My truck spend most of its time on the road and I wish that was different but with school and work and traveling to see the girlfriend, I needed a good tire on the road too. Especially after taking those conti-craps off, I needed somethings safer. It rains a lot here in FL in the summer and I needed traction, especially for braking.

I thought I'd throw my opinion on here. I have revos on my truck and LOVE them. They're dead silent on the highway. They do ok in the mud for an a/t tire. They simply will not hydroplane on the highway period. And where they really shine IMO is in the snow. Since your in ME, that should be really important to you. We get a good amount of snow here in NE too, and I spend my winters with a truck bed full of goose decoys driving thru muddy/snowy cornfields in the dead of winter. Thats where the revo comes into its own. I've got 40k on my set (265's) and they'll pry last another 10k. I've never had the bfg's but I know when these wear out I'm buyin another set of revos.

You could always look into the cheaper General Grappler A/T2's. they are suppose to be just as good as BFG A/T's. I have 31" BFG A/T's and I love them, can't say much about other tires but if your looking some good street/slight offroad I had a set of Toyo A/Ts and they were the greatest street tire I've ever had. The BFG is more of an aggressive offroad tire and would kill the Toyo off road but the toyo's were amazing in the snow and ice and didn't do to bad offroad.
