When i replaced mine, i disconnected the fork from the clutch pedal, then turned the master so it would pop out of the hole in the firewall. Once it's loose, you tilt it up and pull it away from the firewall and the rod will go with it. Unfortunately, the rod in the master is a one way deal. Once it clicks into the master, then its very difficult to remove.

OK. I just can't get the new rod into the new master cylinder. I think I got a defective one. Cause I have tried everything and that sob will not go in. I'm taking it back tomorrow for a new one. Thanx for the reply. Greatly appreciated!
