No drawbacks. Max A/C recirculates the cabin air and turns off the heater's coolant flow valve so it cools the interior much more efficiently. It will not reduce your fuel economy any more than normal A/C. The blower speeds are unaffected but sound louder because of the recirculated airflow.

That's awesome, I was driving on the highway with normal ac yesterday thinking if I flipped it to max ac I would get worse mileage... Thanks

I like to use Max AC when off-road to help keep from pulling dust in the cab. Unfortunately, it gets too cold. I am in the process of figuring out how to put a valve on the vacuum control lines to allow the heater coolant control valve to be operational with Max on.

I have looked at the schematics and it appears to be possible. I have found a valve that looks like it will do what I want. Now I need to get in there to make the changes and see if this mod works.
