Might be buying a different Ranger.

My work took in a very clean originally sold at my work 1999 Ford Ranger ext cab stepside 4x4 with the 3.0L 5spd. I took it out for a test drive and it's damn near perfect. I told the owner I would like to trade my 2002 towards it, but I would like to swap some stuff between the two trucks (wheels/tires, hitch, stereo). He said that wouldn't be a issue, and he would crunch some numbers for me. Think I can keep the payment the same and only had a few month to the current loan on the vehicle. Financed though his leasing company is a nice feature to have. Fingers crossed.

Are you just looking to gain 4x4?

Looking to gain 4x4, extended cab, and a motor that doesn't have the misfire that no one can seem to figure out...

Sounds like a fail. Why go backwards on age? Just to gain the extra room, 4wd and "a better engine".

Numbers didn't jive at all... I'll keep my 2002, and once this thing is paid off I'll look and see what's available.

If anything I got the shop to look at the misfire for free anyways. They said it was just the coil that was acting funny. I replaced the coil shortly after I bought the truck, but I guess I'll try a motorcraft one this time, and see of that fixes it...
