might be trading the ranger in

well im thinkin of trading my 2003 ford ranger edge 4x4 in and get a 2005 ford explorer 4 door. i need more of a family car. my wifes focus is too small to go long distances in and my truck's back seats are too uncomfortable for my wife to ride on for like 5 hrs. so im supposed to go and sign papers at 5:30. well ill let ya know what happens.

oh ok... its still unsafe to have a car seat in the front... air bags and stuff like that. the explorer (or what about an Escape??) sounds like a good option.

Air bags can be shut off on the pass. side of the truck, which is where I am assuming the child seat goes. Which would intern cause his wife to have to ride in the back...

Once the kids come along my wife want to get a Mariner the Mercury version of the escape. And once that happens I get her car and the truck becomes an OFF ROAD TOY.

rangers have a airbag turnoff if you run a carseat up front, its the only place to run it on most trucks

I know what you mean but hopfully me and the wife trade in her taursus instead of my truck. As for now we all fit in the front of my 2 door extendedcab while the dog has the back of cab.

Congrats on the new ride. I just bought a 04 explorer today as well. The kids were outgrowing the ranger and the mustang, both of which we kept.

Enjoy the new ride.

Congrats on the new ride, you'll love it. My parents have owned a '97, '00, '03 Explorers and loved them all and my Dad just bought an '07 Sport Trac and loves it. I like them all too.
