color matching headlight questions

color matching headlight questions

eh i been kicking this around cause im poor and this is a poor mans mod hehehe....

two things,

1) should i do black, or red?

2) when u color matched/painted ur headlights, did you lose alot of light output from your headlights? if so, as a geusstimate, would u say u lost? 50%?

Assuming that you're talking about the headlight mod where you remove the lens and paint the chrome background, then you shouldn't lose any noticeable output. The projected light comes from the reflector portion and that must not be painted.

Exactly.

I only lost light on my clear corners when I painted them. I would go with red

I agree red would look best. Also, even my aftermarket black-background headlights have SOME chrome left to reflect the light properly:

I personally like black, but on your truck I think red would look better.

sprayed out of a rattle can or applied via brush?
