Mustang engine to ranger
#2
It's been done by pro's, but the Coyote engine is way too wide for any older Ranger without a LOT of custom fabrication. It is not an easy job and would involve a lot of fab and custom work. Unless your good with custom fab work and your going to do it yourself, big bucks to have someone do it for you.
Basically everything in engine compartment has to go, steering has to be completely redone and re located, frame mods, ect ect ect. Front end has to be modified due to size and weight of engine, floor modified for trans swap, and big $$$. Entire wiring would have to be swapped over, whether the Ranger is an 1983 or a 2011.
Best bet would be to find an older 80's F-150 short bed and plop it in that.
Just my 2 cents worth.
