Suggestions for reasons.
1) Tires: I'd get flares or get an 8" rim. The tires in PA can only stick out 2.5" outside the fenderwell.
2) Your bumper is not. My truck is body lifted, Torsions cranked all the way and i'm running 34" tires and i'm at the bottom of legal limit for my size truck. You measure to the bottom part of your chrome bumper.

Stone: That is a gamble here that some people take but a lot of inspection places will ask if you are running bigger tires and such. The thing is if you get pulled over and the officer sees that you have passed inspection stickers and decides to do an all around check himself and finds something wrong it can go back on the inspection station. I know this because i tried that also and was told nope.

Edit: Just a FYI. It's a $600 fine for your tires sticking out of your fenderwells. (Told by a state cop)
According to the guy that inspected my truck, my rear bumper is right on 30"...which is the highest legal heigth. (From what I'm told.)

Does anyone know where I can find the inspection spec's for my size of truck? Like, a list of all the rules and such?

I say this time and time again, how on earth can you guys all complain about the emissions rules/testing in CA when you have to go through these utterly rediculous "inspections"? Who cares how high your bumper is, or what tires you have, or if you windshild wipers work, or bla bla bla... its all BULL!

I am issueing a decree.

From here on out, I do not want to here ANY more complaining about CA Smog testing and how crazy it is or bla bla bla. There are certain states I will expempt this for. Only people living in states with absolutly NO inspections or emissions testing will be able to complain about how stupid it is and how happy they are not to live there.

Oh, and good luck on getting your truck legal again.

Wow Jason. I never complained about our laws though i don't like them and PA is extremely strict with following them too. If i didn't have mine changed in 5 days i would have gotten a $600 fine and not have been able to drive it till it was fixed. It's the rules and we have to follow them. Can't change where we live. Think these are strict. Should see the diesel emissions here now.

My inspection was up in July. I really need to get that done.

Inspections are a pain but they keep the death traps off the road. Some of the cars with SC plates around here really should be scraped

I don't mind people complaining about the laws in their state, but if you have been around this place as long as I have, as well as other vehicle related forums, you will begin to notice that almost EVERYBODY that doesn't live in CA complains or say something about how CA SMOG laws and smog checks are so terrible, when thier state is checking for bumper height and other bull plop.

End Rant. LOL
