lol, i took one of the bolts out of the passenger seat, in the back, put the bare wire under it and bolted it back down :D probably not the best ground there could be, but i haven't had any issues...

Yea I ended up grounding mine to the seat as well. I didn't have a Torx bit so I just used a hole in the side of the seat.

you know what i mean, this particular segment of the project!

i kind of thought about painting the hood and grill on my silver/DSG 06 that same way, don't know if i will or not.

that STX grill looks good too!

bumper will be put back on, as soon as the body shop figures out how to mount the 05 bumper on an 07, apparently the brackets are completely different

Yeah.....

they need 01-05 brackets for an 01-05 bumper. Frame bumper mounts are the exact same. Everything in front of the frame bumper mount are totally different.

ya, i'm excited! as soon as i get it back, i'm going to be picking up some IPF lights... these ones...

they don't come with the white covers anymore, they come with a black criss cross rock guard... i think i'm going to put some of that clear rubber rock guard coating on them, then put them behind the STX grille

what do you guys think? the custom paint, grill, bumper, headlight mod... is this going to raise the value of my truck, over what i bought it for (in september) or would it not make much of a difference?

mods coming soon, GM compass, temp and auto dim mirror, the lights, listed above, rear tube bumper, sliders, 3" body lift

It won't make a difference. Modifications don't add anything to the value.

Modifications don't up the resale value at all for dealer trade-in. The only time mods may help is with a private party sale. Even then it has to be the right person. A vehicle is usually always worth more to the owner than the buyer.

X2 DSG flares would be badass on your truck! I was thinking the same thing..
You will never get back what you put into a truck! thats what I hate about pumping money into it sometimes. You might get a little more for it from the right buyer who is appreciates what is done to it and knows he is saving money buying the truck with the mods already done. I am at that point now where I want a change so do i throw a few grand into a superlift and tires? Trade it in on a WRX STI?? Or keep it for a daily driver and buy a new toy when its paid off??? Because I know any more money I put into it I will never get back..

yeah, i'm not expecting to get what i put into it, but i would think that it would be worth slightly more than what i spent on it... not taking into consideration there was $6400 worth of damage in an accident, which prompted most of the above work

so minus all the parts that haven't been custom painted :D lol

i am not a huge fan of pure DSG, i love the colour... but it's like eating an entire bag of truffle chocolate or something... just too much of something good... but a little bit here and there adds good accents... i'm going to be doing my front ford emblem here pretty soon, gotta get some paint mixed up first though
