Just bought a 2001 Ranger (3.0, V6, 4x2). Her name is "Shirley". She's a little beat up but runs fine. I want to fix her up as much as I can on my own.
She's got some quirks like a broken radio, no covers for the cruise control buttons, suicide doors that don't open, antenna needs replacing, etc.
ALSO: Sometimes her "Check Gaudge" light comes on when I start her up on a cold morning and the oil pressure gauge goes crazy low for a second. Once she warms up and drives, it all goes to normal. Is this common in older rangers? I'll have a look around I'm sure someone has posted about this.
Argh! I'm emotionally attached and WILL be asking for an auto parts store gift card for Christmas this year.
