Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac ?

Anyone try these out yet? I have been faithful to my BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO but thinking about trying them out. Cant really find much info since they are so new.

My nipples could slice the treads right off my tires.

Cooper FTW. You can lose small children and animals in those tread wells.

No doubt the Goodyears look pretty good. I've had 3 sets of Goodyear tires in the past and was not impressed with any of them though.

The Goodyears' sidewall is more aggressive than the actual tread...

My motto is "Goodyear; Good for a year and not much longer" (oh and they are over priced)

If only I could find them in 33x12.5R15 maybe I'd try a set depending on price. $141 for a 31x10.5 is a midrange price for that size.

I'm considering purchasing a set of these. If I do, I'll let everyone know what I think.

I put up a thread about these a week ago.

https://www.ranger-forums.com/forum2...ad.php?t=80834

I had somebody e-mail Goodyear directly for me and ask about the sidewalls as there is no mention of the sidewalls anywhere. Also I like the load range D that my BFGs are but these don't come in that load range. I know C will be fine, but I figured I'd ask.

The response from my Goodyear buddy was "The DuraTrac is offered with either the E load range or C load range. All DuraTrac models have a 2 ply sidewall construction. Goodyear says the material consists of polyester plies with a rubber sidewall compound over them, chip chunk resistent compounding in shoulders and tread areas."

They have all this fancy Kevlar sidewalls and some Durawall side walls on the older models of the MTR but they put some crappy 2 ply on the sidwalls instead of using a decent sidewall like they do on their MTRs. I guess I'll be stickign with my overpriced BFGs, however they're worth it to me. Changing tires on the trail or buying expensive tires that are overpriced but somewhat worth it, I'll go without changing tires in the boonies.

Bought a set of 15" ROH rims for my RX7 which had 225/60/15 Eagle GS-A's which were crap, and then a set of 17" Escalade rims with 205/50/17 Eagle GS-A's as well, which were just as bad as the first ones...and I was buying the wheels for the rims, not the tires...

And then of course the Wrangler RT-S's on the Mazda...

So yeah, 3 sets. Didn't want any of 'em by choice.

Hey Mikey, how are those coopers on the highway noise wise? I have some Mud-Terrain A/Ts and I damn near want to kill something after the trip.
