Noise in the Ranger Duratec 2.3 16v engine. Noise! Lifters?

Friends, last weekend I made a flush in my car and unfortunately went wrong. I thought it might be command chain tensioner, now think are discharged tappets lifters. What do you think?

Not sure what you mean by "flush went wrong"?

Duratec 2.3l is a Dual Over Head Cam(DOHC) engine, so no Rockers and no Lifters as far as I know.

The Cams push valves open directly

My guess, would be he did an oil change and used a motor flush in it beforehand.......... the ticking noise though, didn't the 4cyl have some kind of valve or flapper in the actual intake manifold??? I seem to remember something about them becoming loud at one point????

Yes, I did an oil change and used a motor flush.

I did IMRC delete and flaps have been removed.

It was the chain tensioner and guides.

Make sure you have the special tools to lock up the crank and cam shafts when timing the engine.
There are no woodruff keys on the crank sprocket gear or the cam shafts, so the valve timing procedure is critical.
