I would think around $1000

I had my drivers side bed side tore up bad when this chick tried to fit between me and a gate.

They had to smooth it all out and repaint it.

Cost was $550

depends on how much they have to smooth to make it perfect.

3K including the "best" materials? thats not bad. for a complete paint job about $1K is what youll spend in materials alone for good stuff.

if you are looking for a cheaper job in a 2 stage paint, youll spend $1500 minimum depending how bad the truck is, and what kind of shop you plan on going too. id be shocked if theyll paint the doorjambs for that price though so keep the truck the same color.

duh on me. if i read more carefully id have seen that. figure about $800 or so then. decent paint, taking into account a few dings, and just the exterior of the bed.

Ah just paint it urself. You obviously have the skills to do the rest of the work like the body work, prep work, shaving the tail lights, why not just finish the job off?

roll of overspray sheeting - $20
quart of black basecoat (good) - $70
reducer for paint - $15 quart
Quart of good clearcoat with activator - $100
Misc - tape sandpaper, pre cleaners, tack rags, thinner for cleanup - $75

If it was me I would paint the whole truck because most shops will not be able to match it even with factory paint. When I had my black 88 ranger I had the bed painted at the dealer I was working for at the time and you could see the difference in the sun. Black is a hard color to match because if it is just a shade off you will be able to tell in the sun.

When I had my bed painted on my 98 and they fixed a dent under the tailight that was the size of a softball due to me backing into something and total repaint it was $500. That seems about the ballpark for it. And the shop I went to have it done at was top qaulity so it wasnt just a cheap spray job.
