What are everyones thoughts on add-a-leafs are. Will a T-bar crank and add-a-leaf keep the stock stance just a little higher.

 

Those two will make the truck taller and level. I hope you are still getting that bodylift to run those 35's.

 

im not sure how it would make it more level. but it might depend on which style of aal you get.

procomp makes a long and a short. i thought they both lifted the same but im not sure. the long one should ride better and the short one a little rougher.

i have a short AAL in the rear (took out the two inch block) and then added a 1 inch block. in the front i only cranked my t-bars 4 turns on each side.

also have a 3inch body lift. with 32s.

I don't see how add a leafs will help in leveling. The back already sits higher than the front. A t-bar crank will still leave you about 1"-1.5" lower than the rear.

 

Well mine sat pretty level with the AAL and the t-bar crank and bodylift.

 

AAL's are great for towing, my truck looked really funny when I had no t crank and aals in the back. I put them in so I could tow my tandem axle trailer without so much squatting in the back.

So I could crank the T-bars and put deavers in the rear ? Where can I get deavers ?

 

deavers arent made for hauling. i was old it is even worse than the stock springs.

 

i had the EXP 13120 short leafs on my ranger, to help with leveling since i had the bed cap on. if you do it, you have to wrap hose clamps around the add a leaf after your all done so one doesnt spin out and cut a REVO in half on highway 64

 

Deavers are not meant to haul heavy loads Ben
they are softer, but will allow the bead to sit up higher

Buckgnarly had Deavers, he might chime in and say where he bought them
If you are going for a two truck set up (on for towing your future trailer, and one to off road) go with the Deavers for the Ranger
if the Ranger has to pull double duty (tow and off road) the add a leafs might be better, or a shakle swap might do the trick

 

Plus deaver's may be a lil more than you wanna spend.

 

that pretty much says it all, however I am still not 100% sure weather my furture holds a one or 2 truck set up I don't think I want to commit ranger1 to full time off road duty just yet ever with the the body lift I am ordering later today, and the 35's in my shed. Even with that I could always put my stock tires back on to help tow a small trailer or 2k lb pop up camper. I wonder how well it would tow a 2k lb camper while rolling on 35's prolly not to well. I really need a 150 sometimes.

personally i dont think there is going to be enough room for those 35s

 

You also have an automatic, I have a stick you have a 2k lb advantage, autos rated at 5.6 K lbs max trailor stick rated for 3.1K max trailor, like I said I really need a 150 sometimes.

 

We've discussed the manual's lower towing spec here before. Bob is of the opinion that the spec is modest for the manual and agressive for the auto as the test favors the auto (starting from a dead stop on a very steep grade). If you avoid starting on steep grades and take it easy, you should be able to safely exceed the max capacity on a limited basis.

That said, if you want to tow a heavy camper frequently.. yeah, the Ranger prolly isn't your vehicle of choice.

 

Yeah, sometimes I also need a 150. Also meaning with my ranger NOT in place of. I think the plan as it sits next year sometime I plan on going to the camper shows with hope of buying one, if I find one small enough like a pop up
just 2k lbs that I really like, nice tall inside and I can tow it with ranger1 even with the BL in place, maybe with the stock tires maybe with the 35's. Not every weekend maybe once a month. That would be great. If I find a camper that I really love but is a little to heavy, but maybe I can make due for a few towing it with ranger1 for a few months until I can buy a vehical for towing like a used 150 or 250 with 7.3 that would be a good 2nd best senario.
