quad cab ranger?

When is Ford going to get off their duff and build us a quad cab ranger here in the US? I have noticed there is a global ranger aka ranger wildtrac sold nearly every corner of the globe but not here in the states. I love my ranger but am being forced to look at the alternatives now since I am in the market for another. I really don't like taking my business elsewhere but the Colorado and Tacoma are looking pretty attractive. I know, blasphemy right. Wake up Ford! There's a market for this vehicle in the US and we all don't want sporttrac explorers.
Anyone know if I buy one of these global rangers if I can even get it to the states and will it pass emissions and can it be registered?

I'd lean towards the tacoma if you had too. The Colorado Rides SO shitty, and its really not that great of a truck.

^ I agree, what are you really looking for in your next truck though? Just extra cab room or?

Absolutely cab room. I just don't like driving a full size pickup. I liked the way the Tacoma performed. It has a pretty good track record from what I've seen as well. I didn't like the Colorado much and havnt driven any other midsized trucks yet. I know the Dakota and frontier are on my list to check out as well.

Probably never. Last I knew, the Ranger is being discontinued as of late this year.

Discontinue? Wow. I guess Ford is only interested in their f150 after all. I had no idea. Looks like I wont be buying any more Fords then barring getting one of those global rangers sent here to the states if that's even possible.

Take a trip to one of the local countries that have the quad cabs and buy some of them, ship them back and keep the best one and sell the rest.

I believe that there was a thread that talked about the issue of importing the quad cab rangers. Seems like i remember that it is not possible due to crash test restrictions. The "foreign" quad cab has a weak a-pillar or something along those lines that does not allow it to be imported.

I am in the same boat with beginning to look at other manufacturers for a pickup with 4 usable seats.

A few members of my family have the quad cab pre-runner Tacomas and have had no complaints after 9-10 years.
