re appearing ticket
re appearing ticket
so last April 2010 i receive a ticket for $388.00 from a NC state trooper in Durham. The ticket was for tint in my previous vehicle that i no longer own. I never paid this ticket, i got a notice in the mail stating if i don't pay the fine i will have a court date and will have to drive down. Now not owning the vehicle what happens if i don't appeal? do i just get a warrant in NC?? or nation wide? some are saying pay it some say F-it.
any help is greatly appreciated

Pay it.
If the warrant is entered in to NCIC any law enforcement agency will know if they run your license plate or driver's license. Now whether or not it is entered in to NCIC where you are I can't say. Different places do different things.

On the norm, federal misdemeanors/petty offenses do not warrant entry into NCIC. I am not saying it has never happened, but I am sure it is rare. On the state level, I have seen many misdemeanor warrants entered into NCIC, which usually will reflect whether or not the agency will extradite. However, I have never seen an agency/department extradite for a misdemeanor.
could he fight the ticket? his basis being that those types of tickets are "fix it, pay it or pull it off the road tickets". i had a excessive fumes ticket and took the truck off the road. took the ticket and proof to the station and it was dismissed.
he can say that he took the car off the road and sold it.

got off what ever interstate i was on to get food. saw him getting gas. then i got on free way and 10 mins later hes behind me with his lights on.
