depends on the mood of the judge really on that, also how far after the signs where you busted? 17over isnt that good. in IL it be a 75 fine and you would probably be able to plead guilty and get supervision. or they have a class you take for 4hrs, and its 20 bucks, Yeah i went to the class 3 times, never went to fight it them times, well the 3rd time i wanted to but the stupid *** courts sent my court date to 2323 when my adress is 3232 so I get a letter saying my liscense is going to be suspended becuase of not showing for court, call court get a date (a week before the liscence is suspended, plead not guilty, was informed by the time my court date for that my liscence would be suspended and I would have to pay to have it reinstated. That pissed me off big time.

damn! i got 2 tickets in a month. one for 63 in a 45, and one for 51 in a 35. i just had to pay $80 and $95. the first was county and the second was city cop. no court. no community service. nothing at all. i was in my beefed up camaro at the time. cops would harass me ALL the time because of my age and my car.

never heard of HAVING to go to court. but that was 3 years ago so.....

Im 18, i have 3 tickets and have been to driver retraining twice.

2: 60mph in a 45 (with in a week of each other and in the same spot)
1: 49mph in a 25 ( was going faster but knew the officer so he made it so iddint have to go to jail for double speed limit)

my insurance just jumped $1000

so i got lots of experience in that aspect of tickets

by the way i just payed my fines and went on my way. i was guilty in all of them actually i was doing at least 10 mph faster than each was given for so i didnt fight them, it was my own fault and i took the hit for it, but oh well the third one set me straight

63 in a 55 is still speeding that argument wont fly. Just admit you were wrong, pay the fine and go to traffic school so you dont get a point on your license and raised insurance. Your a minor I dont believe you can fite it anyway, at least not here in CA.

only needs to be 6 over the limit in PA on the highway for it to be speeding... 10 over on the 35 and below streets...

Fines for speeding are set by the state and the money goes to the state. The local town/city/county has no say in it and gets no money from it unfortunately.

I doubt the speed limit change will help you any. Thats why there are, like, those signs. If you value your insurance rate, slow down.

just take defensive driving...

in texas, you would be able to plead no contest, pay the fine, pay the court cost, and take defensive driving to keep it of your record...

i have done it almost every year i have been driving...

My first ticket was 20mph over. 70 in a 50. MD state trooper got me right before a stopsign. $140 ticket and 2 points. I decided to fight it in court. (when you go to court you need to make sure you plead guilty) So the judge dropped the points, lowered the fine, and i had to attend one driving class that was an hour and a half long, which i just attended last night actually.

In Ohio court cost for juv traffic violation =50
mat traffic fine is 50.

I have had 3 moving violations, just got license back today (lost it 1-9-04), had priveledges to work/school most of the time (until shredded on the side of the road for going a "little" too fast)

Get an attorney, probably get a public defender for free, what do you have to lose?

I read your original post and then scrolled down to post myself. My head hurts, so I am sorry if i am saying something someone already said.

Ask for 'Deferred Adjudification' You go 90 days with no more tickets for speeding in the same city you got it in and BAM, nothing on your record.

My friend just a ticket for going 86 in a 60 and his will around $240 and i have another friend who got a ticket going 102 (and he was slowing down) in a 65. He got a lawyer, which he payed $150 to and the lawyer got the ticket dismissed. How? I have no idea...

I done the same thing as you, ALMOST, my ticket was 30 in a 20 mph School Zone. All I have to say is get ready for the insurance to go up, and welcome to the wonderful world of cops raping you on tickets. j/k My ticket was 60. Insurance went up a lot tho, i would rather have the ticket than the insurance anyday. So tickets aren't nothing compaired to the insurance getting you. And relax in court since your underage like i was. It's a breeze, i walked in there thinking a $500 fine, and it was only $60. So chill, watch the speeding, enjoy your truck while you can afford the insurance, and gas.

i talked around and crap and i think i can get out of the whole thing. my cousin puts tickets through and can "magicly" make things disapear if you know what i mean... hehe... if she cant throw the ticket out than she can reduce the speed. i dont think my insurance will go up unless i get another ticket... i have a really good insurance policy... i pay $310 for my truck(monthly) and $125 for insurance(monthly)... another thing that pissed me off is my friend got pulled over yesterday by the same exact cop IN THE SAME EXACT SPOT going.... 64!!!!!!!!!!!!!! in a 45... and the cop let him go... i guess he was having a bad day when he pulled me over...

I had a 95 in 60 in my supercharged 94 tbird with 4.6L

Ohio state trooper..
When your radar warning device went offYou were going over 105.
Me: yes I was
OST:License and registration please.
OST: If you were my son i'd smack you across the face
ME: I'll take a slap
OST: Since you pulled right over and werent a jackass
I'll write you for 95 in a 60 (30+ = manditory court date)
ME: Thank you officer

I could have been jailed and towed.
When I saw him pull out I immediately pulled over and waited for him on the berm. I had it reduced to 2 points and paid 140$

Note: I was actually doing about 130... but saw his lights and slowed down some.
