Must be a XJ Wagoneer.....Yea, it's a cherokee with weird headlites, grille, and all red taillights....sometimes with woodgrain stickers down the side. Honestly, don't get an 85. It'll either have the 2.8L chev or a inline 4cyl.....get a '88+ with the 4.0L inline six cyl. If your getting this as a project wheeler, why not start off on the right foot....start with a good rig in the beginning so you won't be mad at the pos 2.8L.

I'd throw on a Rustys 4.5" kit and 32's for a conservative off roader/daily driver...

When I had my '88 cherokee, I had the Rusty's 6.5" Long travel kit...

Rear axle wise, find a 8.8" Ford. They are good axles. Or a Dana 44 rear...some XJs came stock with them. My D44 rear was spooled up, and I ended up twisting up the housing and snaping an axle shaft. Junkyards are the best place for these old rigs.
