I need help..... Please..... I have spent hours online, driving to auto parts stores and buying tools and none have solved my problem....
I have a 2001 Ford Ranger, 4.0, 4x4, extended cab with a manual transmission. The drivers side front brake line rusted through and started leaking. I purchased a stainless steel brake line kit that was supposed to be a direct replacement. Said stainless steel lines arrived, and I hurriedly ran out to the garage to replace the offending line and be able to drive my truck.
The lines (not an exact match - not even really close) did more or less end up in the correct places. The master cylinder side (or 4.x4 slave cylinder side) was in the right place but the line was much too high for the hood to close. The other issue and the real problem is that the original FORD fitting won't unscrew from the aluminum block of the cylinder and the new line fitting is not compatible. I was going to try heat, but that is not possible because of all the plastic and if I try and strong arm the fitting off, I'm sure it will break. So I need to find some sort of union between the new and the old.
I did try and flare my own end and reuse the old fitting but the connection leaked.
anybody have a lead on a union that will go inbetween the fitting on the aluminum block and a standard brake cable line????

Reason: Typo
The whole unit is on a rubber mount and the whole block moves when putting torque on the fitting. I can continue to work on it, but that fitting has been in there for 21 years and not happily coming out.
I can also use an impact wrench set on a lower power, but I really don't want to break it.
Just to close the thread. I was able to get the fitting out. After soaking for two days, I used my impact drill and that was able to get the fitting out.
