Icon4 RPM's will not go over 3000

Hello , I have a 2000 Ford Ranger xlt , 4.0. It runs perfect with no check engine lights on period ;however, once it reaches 3000rpm it acts like the revlimeter is set there. It does this in every gear and I am aware that it is supposed to do this in Park or Netural. Also a side note it has a brand new fuel filter and the pressure is perfect. If anyone has any ideas besides the DRL sensor I'd love to hear. Thank you.

So you have replace the DTR(digital transmission range) sensor on the drivers side of automatic transmission?
