Icon9 92 shuts down

Hello all am new here and need some help. I have a 92 4.0 V6 that is shuting down for some reason. I can drive down the road and it will get to about 2000 RPM and it is like the fuel is shut off or it is igtion shut off. I let off the pedal and push it down and everything starts and runs again. It does this at all different RPM's after that. Was running fine one day and the next all this started. Already changed fuel filter. I have no way of checking the check engine light that comes one because I don't have a scanner. Was just seeing if anyone had any ideas.

If the check engine light is on take it to auto zone and have them check it out for you. They do this for free.
