Slow power windows
Slow power windows
Shortly after having my side power windows tinted, they began laboring to power back up after being opened. Both sides ran down just fine but, over the summer, kept getting slower and slower to close until yesterday, when the drivers side had to be pulled up by hand while holding the switch to complete the upward journey. Any quick fix thoughts before I get into pulling the door panels off to look for mechanical resistance? Although it seems too coincidental for both sides to fail at the same time, the tint shop says they never heard of that happening and can’t imagine that the addition of tint film would ever cause the problem (I don’t disagree) .
Whodathunk it would be that easy! For lack of real silicone spray, I found some silicone spray for waterproofing shoes, cleaned the channels with a rag and sprayed just a little in to see if it made any difference. WOW, it sure did ! I’m going to get some real stuff and do a more thorough job this weekend. Thanks for the tip !
