yeah no **** they're different monsters. but with good tires a gto is running high 12's STOCK. low 13's on street tires and a good driver. they also have unbelievable top end. whether it be the 04 with the ls1, or the 05/06 with the ls2. both would kill your mustang. even with your mods.
and what do you run in the 1/4 mile? i havent seen you post any time slips.
i was just saying, for a diesel to beat a gto, is a pretty big deal. and did tre state what z06 it is? because first of all, the c6 z06 is 11's stock, not tens. and if it was a c5, those are in the 12's. keep in mind this is all with a good driver. its totally believable that the duramax coulda beat a z06. on the street anything can happen.

And yes C6Z06s run 10s with street tires. I will find the videos later, I am at work right now. With a horrible driver I see them go 11.3-6 all day long.
I am not denying that there are fast purpose built diesels out there. But C6Z06 fast is doubtful.

I've seen with my own eyes a sub 10sec street legal diesel pickup. Trevor...care to back me up with that claim???? F-it...i've got vids on my harddrive to prove this somehwere. On top of that, dozens of 11sec and 12sec street legal cummins, strokers, and max's at my local strips.

I was just saying that I have not raced one that put up any kind of fight.
Because all in all......it takes more than just an intake, exhaust and chip to really get a diesel into the 13's. Some are gonna hate me, i'm on the 'typical stang owner's' side.
It takes twins, major head and block work, injection, air, etc to get a diesel pickup into into the 13's.

i'm done arguing. i started a simple thread and you had to start by posting that diesel owners like racing you. im pretty sure we don't care about that. the comment was not needed in the first place.

I bet I could beat both of those diesels in my Dodge.
Of course, I would be fouled because I would leave the line before the green light so I could get a head start and be in 3rd before either one even left the line.
I would also probably top out at about 80, because I'm scared to drive faster then that.

And considering about 60% of the time, 85% of the people at tracks have Mustangs, 45% of them will be racing the other 15% of the rest of the cars there.
