So theres this Accord.....

It has the typical "rice" stuff done to it, unpainted fiberglass fenders, fart can, big wing. It is a 2 door and a 2000 at the newest. I know absolutely nothing about Honda cars. This wouldn't be such a big deal except I know the kid, he is annoying and thinks his car is the ****. Is there any 2 door accords from the mid-late 90's that I should worry about beating my truck? I just want to stop his annoying bumble bee sounding rev's. I want to take this to the local 1/8 mile of course.

Ohhh.... he is also my ex's (and she still calls me daily) boyfriend.

The v6's are fast even back in the day I'm pretty sure.

Looks like the 1999 v6 accord has only 200 hp and 195 torque so in your 4.0 regular cab you should be able to take him with no problem.

Mind you he has the older 4.0 OHV not the newer 4.0 SOHC. He's maybe making 185 at the most. It's a torquey motor but still it's a 4 wheel drive truck versus a small car with more horsepower. Power to weight ratio is key here.

She is my ex,( I left her about a year ago for the girl I'm dating now) I hope that clarifies that part. I took her virginity, and I have probably done her enough that I almost feel bad for him.

Yeah I have no idea about them Hondas and figured it best to ask here. I think I have the best chance from a dig instead of a roll, being rear wheel drive and more torquey.

So worst case scenario for me is that he has a v6... And makes less torque then I, about 40 more horsepower. He has front wheel drive, which equates to traction loss off the line. My 3.73 gears may help me?

No idea on the motor, just that it is a mid-late 90's Accord, Mods, are fart can exhaust and unpainted fiberglass front fenders that look like they have built in rockets. Can not forget the ginormous wing either, for that all important downforce.

SVT01, I like your accord, very cleanly done. Almost sleeper-ish?

i think since its only an 1/8 mile, u might have a chance in 4 wheel drive, depending on your tires.

Step one: Borrow my El Camino
Step two: Race
Step three: After you get across the finish line, you should have enough time to get out and have a cup of tea before he catches up

Fart cans actually go a ways to reducing torque... Not a lot but it does go a small way... If he has the 4 banger you can take him, if he has the six, it's iffy... Anouther thing is, is your truck a manual? If so, how good are you at shifting? Is his a manual? How good is he on the stick?

Listen to car idle if you can, especially with the can you can hear whether it's a 4 or 6, a 4 will idle kind of like grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr one steady buzz (unless his engine has a misfire!) and if it's a six it won't be steady, kind of grgrgrgrgrgrgrgr

my sister used to have a 2000 v6 coupe. The power curve is almost perfect on those engines, i doubt you have a chance with a truck.

I've built honda's for a while... If its a 5-spped then you better not.... If its an H22A then you better not... Late model 90's accorns are quick but the auto tranny is their down fall.... if you race drive her like you stole her...

I had a 4 cyl. 1997 Accord, the f*in thing couldn't even beat a minivan.

If it has dual exhaust, that is a sign of the newer V6's, I'm not sure if the older ones had them.
