speedometer jumping

hey all just got a 03 edge and when i am stopped and mash the brake pedal or e-brake while idling the speedometer needle jumps around is this a sign of battery going bad like the f-150's do? on the charge gage looks kinda low to me the needle is almost the bottom right edge of the battery emblem, any help is appreciated.
