speedometer jumping

hey all just got a 03 edge and when i am stopped and mash the brake pedal or e-brake while idling the speedometer needle jumps around is this a sign of battery going bad like the f-150's do? on the charge gage looks kinda low to me the needle is almost the bottom right edge of the battery emblem, any help is appreciated.

thats what i'm wondering if its the battery or alt guess go to local advance get them to check it. the truck has been sitting up a good bit even has acorns under the hood so they mightve gotten a couple of wires too.
