i have a 97 ford ranger xlt, automatic shifter does not come out of park, i have changed my break switch and it still does not come out. I have noticed that when i pull forward on the shifter and then turn the key to turn on the vehicle it comes out of park and i can shift gears easily, but if i put it in park gear even when truck is on it will get stuck back in park. the key unlocks it from park i have noticed, so im guessing its something inside the shift column. before i open it up i need suggestions or any experince if anyone has had this happen to them. :)
